It has been one of my great­est joys to have the col­lab­o­ra­tion of extra­or­di­nary illus­tra­tors. A pic­ture book is, in truth, a dual cre­ation. The author does her best to tell the story. Then the illus­tra­tor tells the story again, using a dif­fer­ent medium. Great illus­tra­tors will not sim­ply repeat what the author has said, but will com­ple­ment the story with his or her own interpretation.

I am fre­quently asked how do you choose the illus­tra­tors. The truth is that many times I was not given the oppor­tu­nity to chose them. The choice was made by the edi­tor and the art direc­tor of a pub­lish­ing house. I thank them for hav­ing cho­sen excel­lently. I con­sider myself blesses to have some of the best illus­tra­tors in the world illus­trate my sto­ries. Among them are:
