In this DVD Alma Flor describes elo­quently the prin­ci­ples of Cre­ative Read­ing and explains how through dia­logue with their stu­dents teach­ers can develop in them a crit­i­cal con­scious­ness and cre­ative atti­tudes towards their lives.

Alma Flor has defined her Trans­for­ma­tive Edu­ca­tion phi­los­o­phy, influ­enced by Paulo Freire and Max­ine Greene among other thinkers, in her book A Mag­i­cal Encounter: Latino Lit­er­a­ture in the Class­room and in Authors in the Class­room: A Trans­for­ma­tive Edu­ca­tion Process.
