SILK a moving film
The wonderful idea, from my son Alfonso, of projecting films at home –instead of watching them on a TV screen– continues to my the life long dream of a home theater be a great gift.
Among the many beautiful films recently seen is SILK — a film with a very direct story line, a love story, but one of the most delicate expressions of true love.
The views of France and Japan are equally striking, the photography is excellent, but it is the delicacy and exquisiteness of the love story what makes it memorable.

Alma! I just wanted to let you know that I finished your book — and I LOVED IT. My review is at http://corinnesbookreviews.blogspot.com/2008/04/where-flame-trees-bloom-by-alma-flor.html
if you want to read it. Thanks so much!

I hope that works
From Toasty:
I’m really excited you have a blog, although it looks like you haven’t blogged in a while. I am a bilingual/ELL teacher, currently working as a stay at home mom while my daughters are babies. I am teaching them Spanish, and I have always loved your literature. My 2year old is quite verbal and starting to enjoy your books as well. I frequently create my own materials for teaching Spanish, and my dream is to publish something as meaningful as what you have published over the years. It will take every fiber in my being to create something as meaningful as you possess in your pinky finger! My “Toasty” blog is just a silly way to let off steam. My real work is with my daughters, and while important, it sometimes makes me feel like I’m not contributing to society, as I did when I was teaching. I hope you continue to blog. You are a true inspiration to me. Robin (e-mail: robinsme@maine.rr.com)

Alma: we’ve never met at one conference or another, but I’m a big admirer: especially of your picture books I LOVE SATs y domingos and GATHERING THE SUN. Also of your chapter book MY NAME IS MA. ISABEL. So much so that I assign them to my ed sutdents at Texas Tech in Lubbock every/any chance I get. Including this summer. And you saw proof of how much my students enjoy your work as well on their blogs (I’ve only looked at one student’s so far, and you left such an awesome message). Thanks for that.
Abrazos,
